ABOUT US
We started as a painter, not a gallery.
Gallery & Design Calpe was founded by Elena, a painter who has lived and worked in Spain for over twenty years. This is her first gallery – built not from a business plan, but from a simple belief: this town deserved a real place for art, not another shop selling souvenirs with a brushstroke on them.
HOW WE WORK
We’re small, and we like it that way – for now. Step inside and you’ll usually find Elena at work, teaching, or talking with whoever walks through the door. Our exhibitions change every few weeks, each one built around a single artist and their body of work. We open every show with an evening for the artist and their guests — because a painting deserves more than a wall, it deserves a story.
We also teach. Children, beginners, anyone who wants to paint – Elena works with each person individually, no rigid program, just guidance that meets you where you are.
WHERE WE’RE HEADED
We’re building something bigger than one room in the old town. Our catalog is growing toward its first 10 artists and around 300 works – and that’s a beginning, not a ceiling. We want Calpe, and the towns around it, to know: if you’re looking for real art, this is where you come.
A NOTE ON WHO WE ARE
We’re not curators by training. We’re painters, makers, and people who care more about the work than the résumé. What we lack in gallery pedigree, we make up for in honesty – about the art, the artists, and what we’re still building.
Welcome to the gallery
ARTWORKS CATALOG
Our Catalogue is young – and growing fast. Right now we’re building toward 10 artists and around 300 works, all curated, all real. And that’s just the start. We’re not trying to fill a room. We’re building a place people come back to.
STAY IN THE LOOP
New pieces arrive before they’re on the wall. Exhibitions, new artists, and events get announced here first — before Instagram, before anywhere else.
